But that's what happens after you reach out for help.
When you can't help but feel like everyone treats you like you are both fragile and explosive, that's all you have.
When you get diagnosed too late to feel like you have a shot at mending what's been broken for so long that you have forgotten that it could be fixed.
Late diagnosis is painful.
If you suspect your child may have a mental or physical disability, get then screened as soon as you can. Wasted time and money is nothing compared to sending a person off into the world not ready and not used to advocating for the accommodations they are entitled to by law.
Also, sectioning should never be used as a threat, and the fact that many hospitals leave patients alone during the intake process with nothing to even look at besides blank walls should be seen as medical neglect.
